چکیده
We explore the cosmological consequences of Modified Gravity (MOG), and find that it provides, using a minimal number of parameters, good fits to data, including CMB temperature anisotropy, galaxy power spectrum, and supernova luminosity-distance observations. The MOG cosmology predicts a flat universe with an accelerating expansion and an age of ∼14 billion years.

Modified Gravity: Cosmology without dark matter or a cosmological constant
We explore the cosmological consequences of Modified Gravity (MOG), and find that it provides, using a minimal number of parameters, good fits to data, including CMB temperature anisotropy, galaxy mass power spectrum, and supernova luminosity-distance observations. The MOG cosmology is flat and predicts an age of the universe of ∼ 34 billion years.
متن کاملObservationally Verifiable Predictions of Modified Gravity
MOG is a fully relativistic modified theory of gravity based on an action principle. The MOG field equations are exactly solvable numerically in two important cases. In the spherically symmetric, static case of a gravitating mass, the equations also admit an approximate solution that closely resembles the Reissner-Nordström metric. Furthermore, for weak gravitational fields, a Yukawa-type modif...
متن کاملModified Friedmann model in Randers-Finsler space of approximate Berwald type as a possible alternative to dark energy hypothesis
Gravitational field equations in Randers-Finsler space of approximate Berwald type are investigated. A modified Friedmann model is proposed. It is showed that the accelerated expanding universe is guaranteed by a constrained RandersFinsler structure without invoking dark energy. The geodesic in Randers-Finsler space is studied. The additional term in the geodesic equation acts as repulsive forc...
متن کاملVanishing Cosmological Constant in Modified Gauss - Bonnet Gravity with Conformal Anomaly
We consider dark energy cosmology in a de Sitter universe filled with quantum conformal matter. Our model represents a Gauss-Bonnet model of gravity with contributions from quantum effects. To the General Relativity action an arbitrary function of the GB invariant, f(G), is added, and taking into account quantum effects from matter the cosmological constant is studied. For the considered model ...
متن کاملCosmological Acceleration: Dark Energy or Modified Gravity?
The recently observed accelerating cosmological expansion or ”dark energy” may be either a negative pressure constituent in General Relativity (Dark Energy) or modified gravity (Dark Gravity) without any constituent Dark Energy. Lowor high-curvature modifications of Einstein gravity are distinguished by the spacetime (Ricci) curvature of their vacua. If constituent Dark Energy does not exist, s...
